The winter season is a quiet time. Outdoors, trees do not rustle, nor do birds sing, there is no sound of building or repair in the neighborhood. The sky is porcelain blue on dry days or lowering gray on damp days. The ground in my part of northeast is dry and hard. Fallen leaves and branches are leftovers from last year’s growth. A scum of ice lingers in dark damp places on the north side of buildings.

Summer has ended
. The shortening day length causes a sense of sadness and loss to many people. Some are just not prepared for this change of season. Other people love the cool, dry days and beautiful tree colors in fall but are not looking forward to winters cold and dark days!

Dogwood trees. Their white blooms seem to float in the air at night like
little space ships.
Spring is the time for new growth, things sprout, there is a sense of

a more healthful diet. Plan to make some improvements in your home
